His Holiness, the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Orgyen Trinley Dorje has said:

“The Kagyu Monlam is an avenue whereby we can spread, at times of great need, the genuine spirit of love and compassion to all the people of the world, like a great ripple, first in Bodhgaya, then in Bihar, and so on. As we continuously offer these prayers for world peace, it is our intention and our wish that peace and happiness extend to all.”

We invite you to join us in the spread of genuine love and compassion with the offering of aspiration prayers made under the guidance and blessings of His Holiness, at the 2012 North American Kagyu Monlam scheduled to be held from June 29th to July 1st in San Francisco, California at the Hall of Flowers in Golden Gate Park.

It is an honor and privelege for Kagyu Droden Kunchab to host this wondrous event under His Holiness' guidance.  We have supplicated His Holiness to bless us and we are confident that his blessings and that of the entire lineage will rain down upon the 2012 California Kagyu Monlam.

This event is supported by:

The 2012 North American Kagyu Monlam is now complete.  Over sixty Rinpoches, Khenpos, Lamas and Monastics from all around the world gathered together at the County Fair Building in beautiful Golden Gate Park, and were joined by over four hundred layperson participants both in person and via Webcast.  With one voice, the assembly made sincere prayers for world peace and global harmony.  The Kagyu Monlam Association would like to express our deepest thanks to all the many Rinpoches, Khenpos, Lamas and Monastics who arrived and all worked together from setup to takedown, and shared their blessings and expertise to make this ritual shine.  We would also like to express thanks for the noble sponsors who provided the support that made this dream become a reality.  Finally, we pray for the flourishing of the activity of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Orgyen Trinley Dorje.
